PURPOSE: To form a color image by a simple and rapid process high in energy efficiency in a reversible color image forming method. ;CONSTITUTION: In a reversible color image forming method forming a plurality of color images on a reversible color thermal recording medium wherein two or more kinds of reversible thermal color forming composition (recording layers 2A, 2B, 2C) different in developed hue and color erasing start temp. are separately and independently provided on a support 1, the hues of all of the composition are developed in an initial stage and the developed color composition are successively heated at different temps. in a non-imagewise manner to erase the colors of the composition (recording layers 2A, 2B, 2C) to form a color image by a simple and rapid process high in energy efficiency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
