"SURFACE ANTIGEN VACCINE AGAINST FLU, AND, PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF FLU VIRUS SURFACE ANTIGEN PROTEINS PREPARED IN AN ANIMAL CELL CULTURE". The present invention relates to the influenza surface antigen vaccine obtainable by producing influenza viruses propagated in animal cell culture and having a host cell DNA content equal to or less than 25 pg per dose. The present invention is also concerned with a process for the preparation of influenza virus surface antigen proteins propagated in an animal cell culture comprising the subsequent steps of: a. treatment of the total virus containing fluid obtained from cell culture with an enzyme digesting DNA, and b. addition of a cationic detergent, followed by isolation of surface antigen proteins.
