"PROCESSES TO INHIBIT BONE REABSORPTION IN A MAMMALIAN, TO TREAT AND PREVENT OSTEOPOROSIS IN A MAMMALIAN, TO TREAT AND PREVENT ABNORMAL BONE REABSORPTION IN A HUMAN, REHABILITATIVE PHARMACEUTICAL, AND INJURY TO COMBINE EMOMOUSION, AND HUMOROUS JOINT Processes have been disclosed to inhibit bone resorption in mammals while minimizing the occurrence of, or the potential for, adverse gastrointestinal effects. Pharmaceutical compositions and assemblies for carrying out the therapeutic processes disclosed here are also disclosed. The compounds are bisphosphonates selected from the group consisting of alendronate, cimadronate, clodronate, tiludronate, etidronate, ibandronate, risedronate, pyrhydronate, pamidronate, zolendronate, optionally in combination with a histamine H2 antagonist.
