In the present invention there is disclosed intravaginal suppository or another type of vaginally applicable preparation such as cream, foam or ointment containing as active components at least pharmaceutically acceptable topic safe antimicrobial agent, such as agent being selected from a group comprising benzalkonium chloride, cetylpyridinium chloride, chlorohexidine gluconate and povidone iodine, imidazolidinyl urea and diazolidinyl urea, and colony of lactobacillus bacteria encapsulated in thin layer. The viable lactobacillus is contained in the suppository in encapsulated form that protects bacteria during storage of the suppository from activity of the bactericidal agent. As soon as the suppository is exposed to vaginal environment the encapsulating thin layer is sufficiently disintegrated due to the action of moisture and releases lactobacillus bacteria. The lactobacillus bacteria serve for maintaining or repeated creation of healthy flora based on the lactobacillus on vaginal wall and for secreting hydrogen peroxide and other bactericidal substances which suppress conditions of abnormal flora supporting origin of infections.
