An overhaul and rear drive conversion method of M113 vehicle family characterized by the steps of: providing an armored vehicle of the M113 type; stripping said vehicle to a base aluminum hull (10) removing a rear portion (12) of said vehicle; modifying a lower hull (14) adding suspension mounting pads (25) to each side in rear sponson area; adding a new rear stowage area portion (24); adding a new front plate (30) to said lower hull; and welding and joining together said modified lower hull, said top plate, said new rear stowage area portion and said new front plate. 327 י" ג בתמוז התש" ס - July 16, 2000
