Insulating element is formed by applying a layer of foam material (2) to a bottom plate (1), forming channels (3) in the foam material, and inserting ribs (4) in the channels. ALSO CLAIMED is the insulating element formed by the process above, a house roof structure built up of such insulating elements, and a device for continuous manufacture of such elements by spraying foam material on a bottom plate carried on a conveyor and forming the channels in the sprayed foam layer.
