The invention relates to a process for recycling and producing plastics, plastics mixtures or from sorted and unsorted plastic waste wherein: a) a carrier material A, a material X and an additive Z are mixed together, where A and X together, in relation to the total volume, contain at least a quantity of plastics such that the non-plastic components are incorporated therein while a homogenous or partially homogenous composition is still forming; b) the mixture is transported by a conveying device and subjected along the conveyor path to a multistage thermal treatment in sections while continuing to be subjected to mechanical mixing, kneading or compressing and c) the thermal-treated mixture is ejected through a nozzle for further treatment or shaping. The granular size of the material entering the device for the thermal treatment in step b) is 1 to 5 mm in diameter. The multistage thermal treatment of step b) comprises at least three stages with the temperature in: i) a first stage, 60-1300C; ii) a second stage, 130-1800C and iii) a third stage, 1600-3800C. Carrier material A comprises newly produced plastic material or plastics waste material comprising a uniform type of plastic or various plastics. The material X is a material of any or unknown composition. The additive Z is fatty acids, fatty acid-containing mixtures of natural or synthetic origin, fatty acid derivatives releasing fatty acids under process conditions or fatty alcohols.
