The specification describes a process for the protection of plants against fungal diseases, particularly, Plasmopara viticola. The process involves treating plants with, in combination, a non-chelated copper source such as Bordeaux mixture, copper carbonate, copper hydroxide, copper oxychloride and a sparingly soluble calcium and/or zinc and/or manganese chelate. In situ the resulting soluble copper chelate is gradually released.
