摘要
The method of determining the percentage of calcite in carbonate rocks consists in measuring the velocity of ultrasonic wave propagation in the examined material, followed by the determination of the average measurement value. Unique characteristics: The ultrasound longitudinal wave with the frequency of 0.5 MHz is transmitted in three mutually perpendicular directions through a sample containing chips of carbonate rocks with the length of edges exceeding (5-15) 10-2 m. The velocity of the wave is measured in meters per second. The percentage of calcite in the rock is determined according to the following formula: K = 54.7 + 0.0324 C, where: K - the percentage of calcite in the rock, C - the average velocity of the ultrasonic longitudinal wave (m/s) in three mutually perpendicular directions.
