The invention relates to a colorant having formula (I) in its beta -modification. In the X-ray diffraction diagram (Cu-K alpha radiation), this colorant has lines for the following diffraction angles 2 theta ( DEG ): high intensity lines: 10.1; 16.2; 17.6; 20.0; 23.8; 25.0; 26.0; 26.7; medium and low intensity lines: 8.1; 8.9; 18.9; 22.2; 28.3; 29.3. The colorant is stable in dispersions and highly suitable for polyester dyeing.
