The invention relates to a reinforcing devicefor a geosynthetic material which comprises at leastone lap of parallel strands. These reinforcing strandsare distributed in a first group of strands, producedwith a fibre having a high tension modulus and abreaking elongation value close to 5%, and in a secondgroup of strands, produced with a fibre having atension modulus below the tension modulus of the fibreof the first group of strands and a breaking elongationvalue at least equal to 12%. The fibre of the strandsof the first group is made of polyvinyl acetate.
