Rational tariff-rate communication system

The taxi communication system comprises an exchange computer for communication with customers via a telephone network and taxi units connected to the system via a communication network. The system incorporates a first facility for automatic coupling of an incoming call from a customer to one of the taxi units, a second facility for establishing the positions of the different taxi units and a third facility for automatic transfer of the incoming call to a taxi suitably positioned in relation to the location of the customer. The first facility randomly selects one of the taxi units.
