Mounting mould in injection moulding machine, using tool to lock one mould section against fixed plate before locking other mould section against movable plate

The mounting tool (6) is used to press the mould (4) against a fixed plate (1), and then the tool is removed so that the mould can be locked against a movable plate (3). A method for mounting a two-part mould tool in an injection-moulding machine used to make plastic or rubber articles, comprises mounting the tool between a front, fixed mould plate and a rear, linearly movable mould plate in the machine. The assembled mould tool is initially positioned in relation to the fixed plate, then a linearly movable, force-exerting mounting tool is placed between the mould tool and the retracted movable plate and the mould tool is set at the precise height and lateral positions relative to the fixed mould plate. The mounting tool can then be activated to press the mould tool against the fixed plate, so that one mould section (4.2) is locked against this plate, and then the mounting tool is removed and the other plate moved into a position where it is in contact with the mould tool, so that the other mould section (4.3) is locked against the movable plate.
