Sequencing of the XPR2 and LEU2 genes of Yarrowialipolytica, recombinant Yarrowia lipolytica cloningvehicles comprising heterologous DNA coding for theexpression of mammalian protein and other polypeptides,including plasmids suited for transformation of Y.lipolytica hosts and incorporating a regulon homologousto the host in its untransformed state, and secretionsignals in reading phase with the protein codingsequence for the heterologous gene; integrativeexpression vectors using the XPR2 gene promoter,alkaline protease pre-proregion and XPR2 terminatorregion and those having the LEU2 promoter and alkalineprotease secretory signal sequences capable, in atransformed Y. lipolytica cell culture, of expressingand secreting a heterologous protein outside the cell;Y. lipolytica transformants comprising said vectors andplasmids; methods for preparing vectors to directsecretion of specific heterelogous proteins coded forby genes, cDNA or synthetic DNA in Y. lipolytica intheir mature, functional state.
