MECHANISM FOR ROTATING A TREE-FELLING IMPLEMENT AND TREE-FELLING IMPLEMENT THEREWITH

The mechanism is used for rotating a tree-fellingimplement rotatably connected to a distal end of a boomof a logging vehicle by an implement pivot. Themechanism comprises a pinion coaxial with the implementpivot and fixed in rotation with reference to the distalend of the boom. A hydraulic motor is mounted on theframe of the implement and is mechanically connected tothe motor and the pinion by a coupling device, such asa chain. In use, the implement is rotated as the motoris operated. The mechanism provides a simple andreliable construction for rotating a tree-fellingimplement that is capable of rotating the implement withreference to the boom plane in both directions andaccording to a wide range of angles.
