The mechanism is used for rotating a tree-fellingimplement rotatably connected to a distal end of a boomof a logging vehicle by an implement pivot, Themechanism comprises a pinion coaxial with the implementpivot and fixed in rotation with reference to the distalend of the boom. Two longitudinally extending actuatorsare mounted on the frame. Both actuators are lying inthe pinion plane. Each actuator is adjacent to thepinion on a respective side thereof, namely right andleft, and bears a corresponding sprocket coplanar withthe pinion plane and rotatably connected to their freeend. To link the elements together, there is provided achain in mesh with the sprockets and the pinion. Thechain has ends rigidly attached to the frame of theimplement. In use, the implement is rotated as theactuators are operated in opposite directions. Themechanism provides a simple and reliable constructionfor rotating a tree-felling implement that is capable ofrotating the implement with reference to the boom planein both directions and according to a wide range ofangles.
