A water-insoluble silver-containing complex protein composed of a water-soluble protein containing from 0.1 to 200 mu mol/g of active thiol group in the protein and a silver salt. Namely, a water-insoluble complex protein having a high silver content wherein silver, which has antibacterial/antifungal properties, is hardly liberated from the protein.
