DEVICE FOR PLACING DOWELS, AND SPACERS FOR DOWELS PROVIDED FOR CONCRETE ROAD SURFACES

The invention relates to a method for producing a concrete road surface, whereby dowels are placed in the concrete material in the area of transverse joints and/or longitudinal joints, said joints being particularly configured as dummy joints. The aim of the invention is to attain a simple and economical placement of the dowels. To this end, the dowels are prefabricated with spacers in an automated manner, and the device for placing the dowels is fitted also in an automated manner. The invention also relates to a device for placing the dowels which is used to carry out said method. A spacer can be deformed in a ductile manner for an appropriate configuration in order to attain a desired specified height of the dowels.
