New catalytic composition, particularly based on nickel complexes, for two-phase catalysis, and a process for olefin oligomerisation

A new catalyst comprising a lithium halide, aluminium hydrocarbyl halide, and a catalytic element, is claimed. Also claimed, is its prepn. and use in the dimerisation, co-dimerisation, oligomerisation, and co-oligomerisation of olefins.
