A cut-resistant composite for padding materials (1) with at least one layer, free from metal and comprising at least 80 (preferably at least 95) wt% polyester fibres. Also claimed is (i) padding material with a patterned layer (2) attached to the above composite, and (ii) a process for the production of padding material by applying a patterned layer (2) to the composite.
