A kind of thermo-lag, antifreeze protein (THPs) have been isolated and have purified from Choristoneura kinds, including spruce budworm C. fumiferana. The present invention provides the nucleic acid for encoding these antifreeze proteins. The present invention also provides the antibody for thoroughly to solve antifreeze protein reaction. The invention also includes a kind of freezing points for reducing aqueous solution, by the way that these antifreeze proteins are added into solution.
