DEVICE FOR PREVENTING DAMAGE OF MR/GMR HEAD GIMBAL ASSEMBLY IN HARD DISK DRIVE CAUSED BY ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE AND THE METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An FCB(Flexible circuit board) is provided to assemble in a head gimbal assembly of a hard disk drive to preventing damage of the head gimbal assembly. CONSTITUTION: An FCB(Flexible circuit board)(32) is comprised of a head pad(34) of a circuit board, a pre-amp pad(36), and an electro conductive tab(38) connected to the pre-amp pad. The head pad is connected to a pad for a head. The electro conductive tab is grounded in controlling the FCB to ground static electricity on the head. A method for head testing is comprised the steps of; connecting the head to the head pad of the FCB; jointing the electro conductive tab with a ground device; locating the FCB and the head on a head tester and testing the head.
