PURPOSE: A mobile communication apparatus capable of selectively converting an audible ringing signal or a busy signal is provided to convert the audible ringing signal or the busy signal of simply repeated mechanical sounds to a melody stored in a memory of the mobile communication apparatus. CONSTITUTION: While an audible ringing signal or a busy signal are transmitted from a telephone office to a user's mobile communication apparatus(10), a control unit(80) converts the transmitted audible ringing signal or busy signal to the melody or sound according to a user's taste and then outputs the converted the signals to the receiver. If the other side picks up a receiver(100), a telephone office of the other side(90) stops transmitting the melody or sound in order to allow telephone communication between the two.
