PURPOSE: Laccase produced from white rot fungi is provided which is polyphenol oxidase and degrades xenobiotics harmful to environment and difficult to be disintegrated. CONSTITUTION: Trametes sp. CJ-105 is cultured in YM medium for the seed and main culture is performed using flask or fermenter. Carbon sources for the main culture are glucose, glycerol, xylose, fructose, lactose, sucrose, dextrin, or cellulose, wherein glucose is the best one for the production of laccase. 2% of glucose is the optimal concentration. Nitrogen sources are asparagine, urea, sodium nitrate, ammonium chloride, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, or ammonium tartrate, wherein ammonium tartrate is the best one for the production of laccase. 0.04% of ammonium tartrate is the optimal concentration. Thiamin and biotin increase the production of laccase and optimal pH of the medium is 5.0. The inducers for the enzyme production are 2,5-xylidine and veratryl alcohol and wherein laccase is produced in the highest yields at the concentration of 2.5-xylidire being 0.5mM
