PURPOSE: A method of preparing ultra-fine barium titanate powder using property of sol-gel is provided, which easily obtains the ultra-fine barium titanate powder with simple process. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) keeping a reacting container containing at least one of nitric acid solution or hydrochloric acid solution at a fixed temperature and putting one material selected from an aqueous solution of titan and barium, dimethyloxalate or diethyloxalate in the reacting container and stirring to well dissolve the mixture; (ii) leaving the dissolved mixture for fixed times to change color; (iii) cooling the discolored mixture at room temperature to form gel; (iv) evaporating moisture contained in the gelled mixture without washing by heating it at a fixed temperature for a fixed time; and (v) calcining the solid powdery mixture at high temperature for a fixed time and pulverizing it into fine particles having less than 0.1 micrometer.
