OBJECT-ORIENTED INTERFACE AGENT AND METHOD FOR STORING AND INQUIRING HISTORY INFORMATION OF THE AGENT

PURPOSE: A method for storing and inquiring history information of an object-oriented interface agency is provided to solve the problems that overload may be occurred on network management system due to unnecessary information transmission and that memory and processor of the network resource are not effectively controlled. CONSTITUTION: A method for storing history information of the agents(12) comprises the steps of creating initial managing objects when the command for creating managing objects is inputted by a manager(11), determining whether update of the history information is required at the information collection period of the initial managing objects, collecting and storing periodic information from the network resource if update of the history information is not required in the determination step, and storing the previous history information as a history information. Further, the agent includes agent control portions(13) and managing object processing portions(14). The agent control portions enable the interface between the manager and the managing object processing portion. The managing object processing portions store the periodic information of the network resource(16) and the history information of the managing objects in communication with the manager and provide the manager with the above information upon receipt of inquiry command from the manager.
