PURPOSE: A process for preparing crystalline titania particles in ambient temperature using sol-gel method is provided to give the maintenance for its origin property in ambient temperature and the stable titania without lowering its activation even in high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A process is to produce crystalline titania particles of anatase and rutile by using metal alkoxide. The process is characterized by comprising the following steps. The metal alkoxide is hydrated with water. The resultant is provided with catalytic inorganic acid in molar ranges of 0.1 to 200 of metal alkoxide/acid to give the desired crystalline ones in ambient temperature. Further, the process is characterized in that the metal alkoxide is used as metal alkoxide compound or the mixture of metal alkoxide and alcohol. In addition, the metal alkoxide is characterized by selecting from a group of tetraethylorthotitanate, titanium tetraisopropoxide and tetrabutylorthotitanate. Also, the hydrating step is characterized by performing it in the condition of 0.001 to 0.25 molar ratios of metal alkoxide/water.
