SYMBOL MAPPING METHOD AND APPARATUS USING AN EUCLIDEAN DISTANCE AND A HAMMING DISTANCE

PURPOSE: A system mapping method is provided to enhance the bit error rate characteristics by using both the hamming distance of a bit difference and the euclidean distance of a spatial distance. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: separating input information bit signals and input signals including symbolized signals into at least two or more partial sets; and allocating the input signals in order for the bit difference of adjacent signals in each partial set to be minimized. The input information bit signals and the input signals are separated into the sets of even and odd signals in the set separation step. The input signal allocation step is performed in the partial sets separated by a primary set separation.
