PURPOSE: A method for reducing a cogging-torque of a BLDC motor is provided to reduce a torque ripple by reducing the duty rate of a PWM pulse when the cogging-torque is applied in the same direction as a magnetic torque and increasing the duty rate of the PWM pulse when the cogging-torque is applied in a direction which is opposite to the direction of the magnetic torque. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing a cogging-torque of a BLDC motor comprises the steps of driving a motor by regulating the voltage and the current which is applied to the BLDC motor, checking the directions of the cogging-torque and the magnetic torque, reducing the duty rate of the PWM pulse when the cogging-torque is applied in the same direction as the magnetic torque, increasing the duty rate of the PWM pulse when the cogging-torque is applied in a direction which is opposite to the direction of the magnetic torque, regulating the voltage which is applied to the BLDC motor and reducing the torque ripple.
