VERY LARGE SCALE INTEGRATION CIRCUIT FOR TRANSFORMING TWO DIMENSIONAL DISCRETE WAVELET

摘要

PURPOSE: A very large scale integrate circuit for transforming two dimensional discrete wavelet is provided to calculate two dimensional discrete wavelet for processing the wavelet properly by suing a systolic array structure. CONSTITUTION: A high density integrated circuit structure for two dimensional discrete wavelet transformation includes a processing element array(PE), a multiplier processing element and an adder processing element. The processing element array(PE) calculates high frequency and low frequency components alternatively by multiplying low frequency and high frequency coefficients stored in a memory by using the low frequency and high frequency outputs. The multiplier processing element and the adder processing element get low frequency-low frequency component, low frequency-high frequency component, high frequency-low frequency component, and high frequency-high frequency component.
