PURPOSE: Provided is a catalyst used in technique for removing nitrogen oxide by a selective or a non-selective catalytic reduction which reduces nitrogen oxide and oxidizes carbon monoxide at a low temperature and a high space velocity. CONSTITUTION: A process for producing the catalyst comprises the steps of: making water slurry of a fire-resistant inorganic oxides mixture comprising lanthania(La2O3) and alumina(Al2O3) in a weight ratio of 99:1-1:99 and wash coating the slurry on a honeycomb and then drying the wash coated slurry at 120C for 6 hrs. or more; supporting metal aqueous solution on the wash coated honeycomb and drying the supported metal on the inorganic oxides at 120C or more for 6 hrs. or more. The metal aqueous solution contains at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Ba, Ag, Au, Ni, Co, V, Pt, Ti.
