NON-LINEAR QUALITY REVISION APPARATUS AND THE REVISION METHOD FOR DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE: Non-linear characteristic compensating apparatus and method for a display device are provided to improve a screen quality by compensating for a non-linear characteristic of a display device with respect to an applied voltage. CONSTITUTION: A memory(320) stores an output signal of an A/D converter(310). A digital signal processing part(330) receives an image signal from the memory and outputs the same by converting it into image digital data. A gamma compensating part(340) converts the digital data from the digital signal processing part into the analog signal. At the same time, the gamma compensating part classifies a plurality of different compensating sections of compensating for a non-linear characteristic of a display device and regulates an output rate of the analog data. An LCD driving part(350) operates a liquid crystal panel according to the signal from the gamma compensating part. A timing controller(360) determines the operating timings of the respective parts of the system. A system controller(370) performs various control functions with respect to the operations of the LCD driving part and the timing controller.
