Recombinant DNA Vaccine Using PRM and ENVELOPE GENE of Japanese Encephalitis VIRUS Isolated from Korea

PURPOSE: Provided is a recombinant DNA vaccine using PrM and envelope gene of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) isolated from Korea. Therefore, the infection with Japanese encephalitis is protected effectively, its immunity is maintained for long time and vaccination against Japanese encephalitis is easily manufactured. CONSTITUTION: A recombinant DNA vaccine using an expression vector pPCJE-1PrM is prepared by the following steps of: (a) selecting vaccine virus being appropriate to Korea by comparing serologic and genetic features between JEV 5 strains (K96P20, K94P05, K91P55, K87P39, K82P01) isolated from Korea and Nakayama-NIH strain and other JEV isolated from Asia; (b) making a recombinant vaccine using vector system; and (c) identifying the expression of antigen, creating antibody according to animal immunity and defending mechanism by using the novel recombinant vaccine.
