PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing a suitable amount of a linseed extract and Enteromorpha compressa extract from Chlorophyceae is provided which has an excellent protection effect against skin irritation due to external environment and inflammation relieving effect. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic composition comprises 0.1 to 5.0% by weight of a linseed extract and 0.1 to 3.0% by weight of an Enteromorpha compressa extract. For example, 100g linseed is ground, heated with water at 100deg.C for 1 day, and then filtered to produce a linseed extract. Chlorophyceae is ground, extracted with 1,3-butylene glycol and glycerine, and filtered to produce an Enteromorpha compressa extract.
