PURPOSE: A sheave operating system for braking a sway is provided to control a sheave of a trolley for adjusting the incidence angle of a rope fall and preventing a sway quickly. CONSTITUTION: A sheave operating system for braking a sway comprises:a hydraulic cylinder(5) having a linear voltage differential transmitter for sensing the moving distance of the hydraulic cylinder; toothed-wheels(6) installed at the both ends of the central shaft of a sheave(2); and limit switches(8) installed inside of the toothed-wheels.
