PURPOSE: A high frequency optical clock generator is provided to be capable of generating clock optical signals of a high frequency more than 20GHz using the difference in the frequency of an inputted light and a laser resonant. CONSTITUTION: A high frequency optical clock generator includes an optical fiber coupler(11) for coupling an optical fiber to which an inputted light is incident and an optical fiber lasers in which an optical amplification optical fiber(20) is formed. A distribution transition single mode optical fiber(12) obtains a nonlinear optical delay effect for the input light via the optical fiber coupler(11). A polarizing controller includes a polarizer(14) and two double refraction controller(13,15) for induction harmony mode locking using a nonlinear polarization phenomenon. An optical fiber coupler(16) is used to output light from the optical fiber laser to the outside. An optical path shutter(17) directs a laser light toward a single direction. A pumping laser diode(18) is used as an additional light source for pumping light to the optical amplification medium. A wavelength splitting optical fiber coupler(19) inputs light from the pumping laser diode into the optical amplification medium.
