PURPOSE: A ventilation fan having elevating shield disk is provided to achieve an improved ventilation performance and prevent foreign substances from entering through the blower inlet. CONSTITUTION: A ventilation fan has a main body(10) having open upper and lower surfaces, and a blower inlet(12) is formed at the upper surface of the main body. A plurality of cover disk supports(20) are arranged along the outer periphery of the main body of the ventilation fan, and a cover disk(30) is coupled onto cover disk supports. The main body of the ventilation fan has a motor support(50) installed transversely within the main body, and a motor for rotating a blower blade(70) is mounted onto the motor support. A guide rod(32) is arranged downward from the center of the cover disk, and a through hole(42) formed at the center of an elevating shield disk(40) is coupled with the guide rod, thus mounting the elevating shield disk onto a buffering portion(14) arranged at the top of the main body, wherein the buffering portion is formed of an elastic material. The elevating shield disk is constituted by a thin plate made up of a synthetic resin material.
