FIELD: seismic prospecting for mineral deposits. SUBSTANCE: method deals with identification of structural and stratigraphic characteristics in three dimensions. Method envisages following operations: reception of package of signals of seismic paths distributed in advance by definite three- dimensional thickness of ground, division of three dimensional volume into collection of vertically displaced and equidistant horizontal sections and division of one of mentioned sections, as minimum, into assemblage of cells. Each of mentioned cells has parts of at least three seismic paths localized in it. Sideways measurement of cross-correlation in each of mentioned cells between one pair of paths lying in first vertical plane to obtain in-line value and measurement of cross-correlation between another pair of paths lying in another vertical plane to obtain cross-line values are conducted. Then specified in-line value is combined with specified cross-line value to obtain coherence value per each cell and to visualize values of coherence.
