SUBSTANCE: dielectric cavity is designed so that there is no loss in surface conductor on case forming screen cavity and that inherent Q-factor and resonant frequency can be varied independently. Cylindrical dielectric unit with pair of electrodes formed on its opposite surfaces is placed in metal case of screened cavity so that one of electrodes contacts inner bottom surface of screened cavity case.
