SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of 2,6-di-tert.-butyl-4-methlphenol by method of hydrogenolysis of N,N-dimethyl-(3,5-di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-amine on alloy nickel-aluminium-titanium catalyst with hydrogenating agent in medium of 2,6-di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol at increased temperature and pressure. Mixture of hydrogen and trimethylamine is used as hydrogenating agent at the following ratio of components, vol.%: hydrogen 85-93 and trimethylamine 7-15.
