Perfumery ingredient with antimicrobial activity, useful in e.g. perfumes, cosmetics and detergents, show synergistic activity with other antimicrobials

A new perfumery ingredient (I) has an antimicrobial activity of at least 80% as measured by the agar surface-coating test or the vapor phase test. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a perfume composition (A) in which at least 40% of the perfume components are (I); (2) perfumery articles containing (A); and (3) a method for imparting, or reinforcing, the antimicrobial activity of body- and hair-care compositions by addition of (A).
