An assembly for laboratory analysis of human blood or urine comprises: (a) a housing enclosing a sample-holder assembly, a reagent holder assembly, a reaction vessel, a reaction vessel to regenerate a sample and a reagent, and a system which analyses the reaction soln. produced by the reaction in the reaction vessel; (b) an operator control unit which regulates the reaction and the analysis operation; and (c) a display unit presenting information on the reaction progress and analysis operations. The operator control unit and the display unit are combined as a single detachable analysis-input-output assembly on the analysis unit housing by locking fixtures. The analysis unit comprises a sample turntable and a reagent turntable. The dia. of the reagent turntable is greater than that of the sample turntable. Both the sample and reagent turntables are positioned towards the front of the assembly with the centre point of the sample turntable being closer to the front than that of the reagent turntable.
