The parameter input method uses an input mask displayed on the monitor screen of the personal computer linked to the setting and measuring device, provided with a number of data fields for input of the data used for a measuring program for each tool or workpiece type. The input mask is provided as a photograph or drawing of the tool or workpiece with data fields assigned to specific parts of the photograph or drawing.
