In an artificial heart or heart support system the valve is inserted in an artificial blood pump. It involves one more flow distributor (5) which during the throughflow phase divert a part of the blow flow as flushing flow (6) so that the side of the valve velum turned away from the main flow (4) or the velum (3) itself has blood flowing around it. One, two or several vela take over the closure function and each of them on the side turned away from the main flow has the flushing flow moved around it.
