The pump has a cylinder containing a disc piston, which executes a slow gentle movement to generate an air-water mixture containing microscopic air bubbles. The slow movement does not destroy existing plankton but causes it to multiply. The cylinder contains four valves. Size of pump and piston ar adapted to requirements, so that plankton-endangering poisons, e.g. nitrate, phosphate, etc. can be removed via a protein skimmer.
