Wood chips, method and device for producing a wood chip and for profiling a tree trunk and their uses

A wood chip, a method and a device for the production thereof and their uses are described. The wood chips (10 ') are made of wood. It has a first, concave surface (12) and a second, convex surface (14) which delimit the essentially wedge-shaped wood chips (10 ') between them. The surfaces (12, 14) converge in an imaginary tip (16) outside the chips (10 '). The wood chips (10 ') are removed by means of a rotating chipper tool. Before the removal, the wood is removed in the area in which the surfaces (12, 14) converge in the imaginary tip (16). This is preferably done by a circular saw, which is connected upstream of the chipper head (Fig. 2).
