The overflow edge comprises two or more separate channels (10, 20) of which at least one is on the surround side to discharge dirty water and at least one is on the pool side to return slosh water. At least one of the channels has at least one swivel mounted flap (22) which can be locked in position. The mouth of the channel having the flap can be closed such as sealed by the flap. The mouth of at least one channel lies flush with the water surface in the pool.
