An engine gear (2) system for medium to heavy trucks consists of a series of sections, each containing different components as required, which match the gear box to the engine and respective vehicle. The assembled gearbox consists of a main section (22), a multi-gear split gear section (40), and a multi-gear group gear section (10). Each section contains gear wheels (28,32,36), each of which have the same number of teeth in its respective pairs.
