Raising the pH and temperature stability of enzyme preparations from Trichoderma reesei cultures, is new and comprises raising the pH and/or temperature of an aqueous solution of the culture until enzyme activity falls, and returning the pH and/or temperature to the original values. Raising the pH- and temperature stability of enzyme preparations from Trichoderma reesei cultures, is new and comprises: (a) raising the pH and/or the temperature of an aqueous solution of the enzyme preparation, wherein if both the pH and temperature are raised this may be carried out either simultaneously or successively; (b) maintaining the increased pH and/or temperature of the enzyme preparation until the enzyme activity begins to fall; and (c) lowering the pH or the temperature of the enzyme preparation or both the pH and temperature simultaneously or successively, to the values prevailing at the beginning of the process.
