In an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) with active layer(s) on a substrate, at least one of the light-emitting active layers comprises a poly(-p-phenylenevinylene) derivative (PPV derivative). The PPV derivative is poly(2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene-1,2-ethenylene-2,5-d imethoxy-1,4-phenylene-1,2-ethenylene) (M3EH-PPV). An Independent claim is also included for the use of M3EH-PPV as electroluminescent material.
